A Historic Retreat, Reimagined

Exciting new plans to elevate the Pendley Manor experience

We are proposing a multi-million-pound investment in new facilities and enhanced green spaces around the hotel site. A local employer and successful hotel, we are proud to be part of the community. Pendley Manor is valued by visitors and the wider community, but we are constrained by our current facilities. Our new proposals would enhance our offer to guests through improved hotel space and outdoor areas.

It would also improve our business conference, wedding facilities and community event space, and provide new revenue streams. This package of improvements, phased over several years to reduce impact on visitors and neighbours, would help to secure the hotel’s future success.

New Facilities & Event Spaces

The proposals to enhance Pendley Manor are ambitious and reflect our long-term aim to enhance our offering to guests and the local community. We are respectful of our historic setting and the proposals include:

  • New hotel building on the western side of the main hotel site, comprising 40 keys. The Harcourt Wing extension will be reconfigured to provide 23 additional new keys.
  • New events space/ballroom with a landscaped roof, connecting directly to the Harcourt Wing. This will upgrade our existing spa and leisure facilities.
  • A new entrance link corridor to connect the main building with the enhanced Harcourt Wing.
  • Restore and extend ‘The Lodge’, our historic gatehouse, to provide a new social hub including an open kitchen area for cooking classes, and a flexible space for arts and crafts.

These additions will support our growing demand for weddings, conferences, and cultural events.

Access and Travel

Pendley Manor benefits from close access to bus routes which link to Tring and the railway station. The proposals can enhance these connections via improved walking and cycling routes to increase accessibility and promote wellbeing.

  • Realignment of the entrance road to improve the approach to Pendley Manor
  • A network of pedestrian walking routes and paths which link to those outside of the site. These will link with external bus stops to encourage sustainable travel to Tring and the railway station
  • Improved formal cycling path across the site
  • Additional parking (+70 net spaces) with a new area at The Meadow, including new EV charging points, accessible bays, cycle parking, and guest spaces
